FAQs

GENERAL

Where are your products made?

All of my products are handmade in Melbourne, Australia. From the hand-stamped pet tags to the Biothane collars and leads, everything is crafted with care and attention to detail.

Do you accept custom orders?

Yes! I love creating custom pieces. Please reach out via the Contact page.

SIZING & FIT

How do I choose the right size collar for my dog?

Use a soft measuring tape to measure around your dog’s neck where the collar will sit. Make sure the tape is snug but not tight—you should be able to fit two fingers comfortably between the tape and your dog’s neck.

Our collars feature a solid brass buckle with multiple holes, so the fit is adjustable within the neck circumference ranges below. If your dog’s measurement falls between sizes, it’s best to size up for comfort and adjust the buckle accordingly.

Size Collar Width Fits Neck Circumference
S 1.9 cm 26 – 36 cm
M 1.9 cm or 2.5 cm 33 – 44 cm
L 2.5 cm 42 – 52 cm
XL 2.5 cm 50 – 60 cm

What size are the dog leads?

All leashes are 1.2 metres long, and you can choose between two widths.

1.9 cm width – great for small to medium dogs or those who prefer a lighter lead

2.5 cm width – ideal for medium to large dogs or dogs who need a bit more durability

HAND-STAMPED PET TAGS

Are your tags engraved?

Nope — they’re hand-stamped, not machine engraved. Each letter and symbol is individually stamped by hand, which gives each tag its own unique character.

What material are the tags made from?

Tags are made from aluminium (silver) or brass (gold) — both are strong, lightweight, and long-wearing. Brass develops a natural patina over time, which you can polish if you prefer a shiny finish.

How much information can I include on a tag?

This depends on the shape and size of the tag. Most tags comfortably fit a name on the front, and one or two phone numbers. If you’re unsure, send me a message and I’ll let you know what’s possible.

Will the hand-stamping wear off?

Because the design is physically imprinted into the metal, the letters won’t rub off. However, like all metal tags, some surface wear over time is normal — it just adds character.

BIOTHANE DOG COLLARS & LEADS

What is Biothane?

Biothane is a waterproof, easy-to-clean, and highly durable material that looks and feels similar to leather — but it’s vegan, flexible, and great for dogs who love to explore.

Why should I choose a Biothane lead or collar?

Biothane is waterproof, durable, and easy to clean—unlike cheaper nylon or faux leather that can soak up water, wear out quickly, and smell. It offers the strength and flexibility of leather but without the high maintenance or ethical concerns, making it a long-lasting, practical choice for active dogs.

Is Biothane good for active dogs?

Absolutely. Biothane is tough enough for all-weather adventures, muddy walks, and beach swims. It’s odour-resistant, quick to clean, and built to handle whatever your dog throws at it.

What kind of hardware do you use?

All collars and leashes are finished with solid brass hardware, which is strong, rust-resistant, and ages beautifully over time.

How do I clean my collar or lead?

Simply wipe down with a damp cloth or wash with mild soap and water. No special care products needed!
